Back to the Trails of Idaho and Montana

On the way back from the east coast to Seoul earlier this month (July), we met at the cabin in Idaho for about a week of hiking and general relaxation.  A DC-based friend joined us.  He'd never been to that neck of the woods, so we took him to some of our favorite trails so he could get a taste of the area we like so much.  Here are a few photos to share of those hikes and some fabulous sunsets over Lake Pend O'reille.  Not much need for text here.

Sunsets on Lake Pend O'reille

Rock Lake, Cabinet Mountains, Montana

Harrison Lake and the Selkirk Crest, Selkirk Mountains, Idaho

Mt Pend Oreille, Idaho Panhandle National Forest

Lake Pend O'reille and Sandpoint, ID in the distance.

Granite Lake, Cabinet Mountains, Montana

Lots of creek crossings; 10 going and coming.

Old growth forests.

Avalanche!

How does one go about registering a mining claim on public land??
